Excavation & grading services
Drainage & erosion control
When monsoon storms send water toward your house, carve channels through the yard, or wash out a slope, we fix the grading and build drainage that moves water where it belongs.
What to expect
Most drainage problems start with grading. We study how water moves across your property during the estimate, then combine re-grading with features like swales, berms, French drains, rock-lined channels and ponding areas.
For slopes and disturbed ground, we install erosion control such as rock, wattles and mulch to keep soil in place.

Arroyos and neighbors
Albuquerque’s arroyos carry fast, dangerous flows during storms. Lots adjacent to arroyos may have additional rules from the city, county or flood control authority, and work in or near an arroyo usually needs approval. We do not work inside arroyos without the required permissions.
Drainage fixes must not simply move the problem onto a neighbor. We design solutions that keep stormwater on your property or send it where it is allowed to go.

Common questions
Why does water pool next to my house?
Usually because the ground slopes toward the foundation, or because soil has settled. Re-grading so the ground falls away from the house is often the fix.
Do I need an engineer?
Simple yard drainage often does not, but larger or more complex sites may need an engineered grading and drainage plan. We will tell you if we think yours does.
