What to expect
A building pad is the level, compacted area your foundation sits on. Getting its elevation, size and compaction right saves your builder time and helps prevent settling and drainage problems later.
We coordinate with your builder, engineer or surveyor and work from their staking and plans.

Permits and dust on larger sites
Larger disturbed sites may need a fugitive dust control permit from the local air quality program in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, and may need stormwater coverage under the federal NPDES Construction General Permit. Whether these apply depends on the size and nature of the project.
We check these items with you early, before work starts, and we follow any dust and erosion controls your permits require.

How is a pad compacted?
Fill is placed in layers (lifts), moisture-conditioned and compacted. If your project requires compaction testing, we coordinate with the testing company.
