Trenching for utility, water & sewer lines

Running power to a shop, a new water line, a sewer connection or irrigation? We dig clean, straight trenches to the depth your plumber or electrician needs — after the 811 locate.

What to expect

Good trenching saves your plumber or electrician time: correct depth and width, a clean bottom, spoil placed out of the way, and careful backfill once the line is in and inspected.

We dig for homeowners and for trades, from short runs across a yard to long runs across acreage.

Good for

  • Power to a shop, barn or casita
  • New or replacement water lines
  • Sewer connections
  • Irrigation systems

What's included

  • Electrical & conduit trenches
  • Water line trenches
  • Sewer & septic line trenches
  • Gas line trenches (for your licensed installer)
  • Irrigation & drip line trenches
  • Backfill and compaction
  • New Mexico 811 locate request

Every job is quoted after a free on-site walk-through. Your written quote lists exactly what is included.

Locates and inspections

We request a New Mexico 811 locate before every trench. Marked utilities are hand-exposed where required, and we dig carefully around them.

Many utility installations must be inspected before the trench is backfilled. We coordinate with you and your installer so the trench stays open until it has been inspected.

Common questions

Do you install the pipe or wire?

We dig and backfill. The line itself is typically installed by your licensed plumber, electrician or gas installer.

How deep can you trench?

Depth depends on the line and the code requirements for it. Tell us what you are installing and we will dig to the depth your installer specifies.
