Yard and lot clearing in Paradise Hills

Paradise Hills clearing is mostly yards and vacant lots that have gotten away from their owners. We clear them back, haul it all off and keep the sand from becoming the next problem.

What we clear from Paradise Hills yards and lots

  • Weeds and tumbleweeds packed along walls and fences
  • Overgrown shrubs and old trees that have outgrown the yard
  • Trash, yard waste and junk left behind by a past owner or tenant
  • Old sheds, broken play sets and dog runs
  • Brush on vacant lots between homes
  • Ground cleared for a future patio, shed or addition

Complaints, the commission and the city

In the unincorporated part of the neighborhood, zoning is handled by the Paradise Hills Special Zoning District's commission rather than Bernalillo County. The commission responds to written complaints from neighbors, and overgrown weeds and trash are among the most common.

If your property is inside Albuquerque city limits instead, City of Albuquerque rules and notices apply. Either way the fix looks the same: clear the lot, haul the debris and show that it is done. We can send before-and-after photos for that.

Sand is the other half of the job. Up on the West Mesa, wind moves bare ground quickly, and a freshly cleared yard can end up drifted against the back wall. We talk through what goes back on the ground before we start, not after.

Planning to build after clearing?

Per Bernalillo County, new construction in the special zoning district needs a plot survey approved by the commission before you apply to the county for a building permit. If clearing is the first step toward an addition or a new home, start that conversation early so the clearing lines up with the approved plan.

A typical Paradise Hills cleanup, start to finish

  1. 1

    Photos and address

Send a few photos of the yard or lot and, if you have one, the complaint or notice.

  2. 2

    A quick walk

We look at access, anything buried in the weeds and the trees or shrubs you want to keep.

  3. 3

    Clear and haul

We clear the scope on the quote and haul everything away unless you ask us to leave mulch.

  4. 4

    Leave it stable

On sandy ground we finish with mulch, gravel or rock where you want it, instead of bare dirt that blows.

Land clearing questions in Paradise Hills

A neighbor complained about my weeds. How quickly can you come out?

Call with any deadline you've been given and we'll tell you our earliest open date. Smaller yard cleanups are usually easier to fit in than full-lot jobs.

Can your equipment get into a walled backyard?

Often. We measure the gate on the walk-through and bring a compact machine if one fits. If nothing will fit, we tell you before quoting.

Do you also clear lots elsewhere on the Northwest Mesa?

Yes. Along with Paradise Hills, we clear yards and lots in Taylor Ranch, Ventana Ranch and Volcano Cliffs.
