Demolition and debris hauling in the North Valley
Older North Valley properties often have one of everything out back: a leaning shed, horse pens, a chicken coop, an old slab and a pile nobody has touched in years. We clear it out and haul it away.
City, county or village: who handles your demolition permit
Jurisdiction in the North Valley changes from parcel to parcel. Bernalillo County has an online tool for looking up yours.

|---|---|
| Albuquerque city limits | City of Albuquerque |
| Unincorporated Bernalillo County | Bernalillo County |
| The Village of Los Ranchos | The village |
| Any of these, beside an irrigation ditch | Also MRGCD, for work in the ditch or its easement |
What's hiding behind an old valley property
Decades of farm and family use leave layers. A shed may have been patched with whatever was on hand, pens are often built from mixed wood and metal, and there's usually concrete from a structure that's no longer standing.
Older buildings may contain materials such as asbestos that need testing before they're disturbed. If something looks suspect during the job, we stop work on that part and tell you.
The ground underneath matters as well. River silt and clay go soft after rain or irrigation, so we haul when the yard can carry a loaded truck and keep heavy equipment off spots that are still wet.
Show us the wells, septic and buried pipe
Before breaking out slabs or digging footings, we request a New Mexico 811 locate. Private lines on older valley properties, such as well lines, septic systems and buried irrigation, aren't marked by 811, so point out anything you know about during the walk-through.
North Valley structures and debris we remove
Most valley cleanups are a mix of small structures and loose debris, and we take it all in one job when we can.
- Sheds and carports past repair
- Horse pens, chicken coops and animal shelters
- Old fencing, coyote fencing and gates
- Concrete slabs, footings and old walkways
- Junk piles, scrap metal and old lumber
- Green waste tangled up with debris
Demolition & hauling questions in North Valley
I got a notice about junk on my property. Who sent it?
The notice will say whether it came from the City of Albuquerque or Bernalillo County. Send it to us with the deadline and we'll plan the cleanup around it.
Can you tear down a shed that has power run to it?
Yes, once the power is disconnected. Have an electrician or the utility make it safe first; we don't start demolition on a structure with live service.
Do you take old tires and car batteries from the property?
They need special disposal, so they can't go in with general debris. Tell us how many there are at the estimate so the quote accounts for handling them separately.
Can you clear the junk without harming my old fruit trees?
Yes. Point out the trees and plantings you want kept during the walk-through. We work around them, load debris from the side away from their roots, and leave them as they were when the cleanup is done.
