Weed and tumbleweed cleanup across Albuquerque
Most calls we get for Albuquerque weed work start with a notice from the city or a wall of tumbleweeds after a windy week. We cut it down, load it out and leave the lot clean.
Holding a city weed and litter notice?
Find the deadline and the list of what has to be cleared, then call us with the address. We'll give you the first day we can be on the lot and send photos once the work is done. We can't speak for the city or predict what an inspector decides, so keep your own copy of the notice and our receipt together.
Why the weeds look different in each part of town
On the Westside and Northwest Mesa, loose sand off Coors gets disturbed and Russian thistle moves in fast. By fall those plants dry, snap off at the base and roll until a block wall stops them, which is why some backyards fill to the top of the fence.
Up in the Northeast Heights and Foothills, the problem is more dry grass and brush growing between rock and decomposed granite. Slopes and boulders there mean a lot of the cutting is done by hand with trimmers and brush cutters rather than a machine.
In the North and South Valley, river silt grows tall kochia and weeds wherever water collects. Older infill lots near Downtown, Nob Hill and the university tend to collect as much litter and dumped debris as weeds.
Albuquerque cleanups we see every season
The empty lot between two houses
An infill lot nobody has touched in years, waist-high weeds, a few shopping bags of trash and a neighbor who finally complained.
A rental between tenants
The front gravel has gone green, the side yard is full of tumbleweeds and the property manager needs it presentable before the next showing.
A house going on the market
Sellers want the yard cut back and hauled off so listing photos show the lot, not the weeds.
The alley behind the back wall
Tumbleweeds stack in alleys and along the outside of block walls. Tell us if the alley strip is part of what you need cleared.
From your call to the finished photos
- 1
You call with the address and any deadline
If there's a notice, read us the date. If the lot is vacant, you don't need to meet us there.
- 2
We walk the lot and send a written quote
The quote lists what gets cut, what gets hauled and when we can do it.
- 3
Cut, rake and load
Trimmers and brush cutters for edges and slopes, a skid steer when the lot is big and open. Tumbleweeds get crushed down so each load carries more.
- 4
Haul-off and photos
Everything leaves with us unless you asked for something to stay, and we send before-and-after photos if you want them.

What comes off a typical city lot
- Weeds cut low across the whole lot, including along walls and fences
- Tumbleweed piles pulled out of corners, gates and alleys
- Dead shrubs and dry brush
- Loose trash, bottles and small dumped debris
- Raking so the lot looks finished, not just mowed
- Loading and haul-off of everything we cut
Brush & weed removal questions in Albuquerque
Will you clear the alley strip behind my house?
Yes, if you want it included. Alleys and the ground outside a back wall are where tumbleweeds collect, so tell us when you call and check your notice to see whether that area is listed.
Can you cut the weeds on my Westside lot without turning it into blowing sand?
Usually, yes. Cutting weeds low instead of scraping the lot to bare dirt leaves the roots holding the sand. Scraping makes sense when you're about to build, not for routine cleanup.
Can we set up a second visit after the monsoon?
Yes. A lot of Albuquerque owners book one cleanup after the summer rains and another before the windy months. We'll remind you when it's time if you want.
